How much does it cost to join?

There is no cost to join the program. As you generate revenue within Automattic’s ecosystem, you will qualify for benefits like partner directory listings and lead referrals.

Who qualifies for directory listings and lead distribution?

Once you reach the Agency Partner tier, you will be eligible to apply to be listed on one or more of our partner directories. During the directory application process, you will be asked to showcase your expertise in implementing the product(s) associated with each directory you are applying for.

When you reach our Pro Partner tier, you will qualify for lead distribution from Automattic for Agencies. To be distributed leads, you must also be listed on one or more of our partner directories. Leads are distributed equitably to agencies that are the best fit for the client and their project needs.

What types of leads are distributed?

Leads are sourced from all of Automattic’s business units, and directly through our partner directories when the lead chooses the “Match me with an agency” option. Due to this large footprint, leads can have a variety of different needs, including web and store development, security and performance optimization, and much more.

Do I need to migrate clients to Automattic hosting to qualify?

No. To qualify for lead distribution, the requirement is that you reach the Pro Partner tier. The revenue associated with this tier can be generated from hosting and plugin purchases, as well as from adding WooPayments to client stores.

When working with these leads, we prefer that you use Automattic’s products in their projects. However, we know that there will be some cases when you need to use alternative solutions. Each Automattic product you purchase or refer to clients will contribute towards your tier level.

What if I already get leads elsewhere?

You are free to get leads from whatever source you choose. We don’t require you to work exclusively with Automattic for Agencies.
