Happiness Engineering (Customer Experience & Technical Support)

Our Customer Experience and Technical Support teams (known as Happiness Engineers) play an integral role in providing best-in-class support to our customers across the Automattic product suite.

Our teams guide customers and colleagues to the fullest use of our safe and trusted platforms, including fully understanding customer needs and advising the best solution for them, whether that is fixing a simple billing issue, fixing a complex technical challenge, or suggesting the right plan for their current and future needs. Happiness Engineers are truly in the details of how we support global users. They possess excellent technical, product, and communication skills, with a track record and commitment to building a happy, passionate, loyal community, one relationship at a time.

We're now looking for an exceptional leader to join our team and lead our WordPress.com customer experience teams to deliver high-quality, responsive support to our customers, developers, and agencies. You will play a vital role in the Happiness division, where you will also closely partner with Automattic’s Head of Happiness.

A strategic and self-starter leader with extensive experience scaling and leading large, 100+ global customer experience teams.
An approach to management that creates order from chaos that adapts to changing conditions.
An inspirational leader who sets the north star direction, and can make necessary decisions to help the Happiness organization move in the right direction.
Someone who possesses a founder-like mentality. We want you to feel like a CEO for your area of the organization and draw from your experiences.
An experienced leader with a strong focus on driving growth and retention. We want you to know how to build customer relationships that result in lower churn, higher retention, and positively impacting revenue.
An individual excited about leading and developing a team of 130+ team of Happiness Engineers globally and 15+ leads, helping with leadership, performance, growth and development.
