Global payment upgrade: 26 currencies and new methods now supported for referrals

With the upgraded referral billing system launched August 6, it’s now easier for your clients to check out using the currencies and payment methods they prefer. New flexible billing terms and support for 26+ currencies make it simpler for your agency to earn commissions from referrals across the globe. 

Key updates:

  • Expanded currency support: Clients can pay in more than 26 global currencies—no more USD-only restrictions.
  • Flexible payment terms: New clients can select monthly or annual options for all products and hosting plans.
  • Upfront billing: Clear, predictable transactions put clients at ease.
  • A unified billing portal: Manage payments, referrals, and invoicing from one modern, secure platform.

These improvements reduce manual workarounds and billing errors and ultimately deliver a smoother client experience. Plus, accepting more currencies and catering to individual payment preferences empowers agencies to better serve international clients and make the most of new growth opportunities.

Coming soon for referral payments:

  • Expanded payment methods: Additional payment methods—beyond credit cards—are on the way.
  • Shareable payment links: Easily send clients a direct link to complete checkout, streamlining the referral and payment process.
  • Cobranding on invoices: Add your agency’s branding to invoices for a more professional, customized client experience.

Client Reports (BETA) is now live

From a client’s perspective, if work isn’t visible, it doesn’t exist. That’s why communication—and reporting—is so important. If this is your least favorite part of your job, we have great news!

The new Client Reports feature (currently in Beta) makes it easy to create beautifully-formatted client updates in two minutes or less—no exporting, third-party apps, or spreadsheets required.

Even better? Reports look like they took hours to build. With the new tool you can:

  • Tailor reports to each client’s priorities
  • Include site stats like top posts, traffic sources, visitor volume, popular locations, device usage, and more
  • Auto-generate mobile-optimized reports
  • Send updates with just a few clicks, straight from your Automattic for Agencies dashboard
  • Duplicate reports and reuse any or all elements—like layout, messaging, and datasets—for additional reports.

Agencies hosting client sites on WordPress.com or Pressable can start creating reports right away—just verify that your sites are live (not in development mode on WordPress.com) or connected via the Jetpack plugin if you host on Pressable.

What changed:

  • The name: “Premier Agency Plans” are now “Signature Plans.”
  • The baseline specs: All new start with a streamlined PHP configuration, plus the same auto-scaling performance that you know and love.
  • The tiers: Plan names now follow a simple numerical sequence from Signature 1 to Signature 17.
